DIRECTIONS

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups Original Almond Breeze almond milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbs (6 tea bags) black tea
  • 3 Tbs honey or brown sugar
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • ¼ tsp black peppercorns

METHOD

  1. Crush and roughly chop the star anise, cloves and cardamom pods.
  2.  In a saucepan add all the ingredients except for the Almond Breeze and vanilla extract.
  3. On low heat, simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain out the tea leaves or tea bags and spices and discard.
  5. Add the vanilla extract to the chai concentrate.
  6. Let cool and then put the chai concentrate in the refrigerator for about an hour to chill.
  7. To serve, heat the Almond Breeze almond milk stirring through the chai concentrate. Serve warm.
