DIRECTIONS

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups Original Almond Breeze almond milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbs (6 tea bags) black tea
  • 3 Tbs honey or brown sugar
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • ¼ tsp black peppercorns
  • Ice cubes

METHOD

  1. Crush and roughly chop the star anise, cloves and cardamom pods.
  2.  In a saucepan add all the ingredients except for the Almond Breeze, vanilla extract and ice cubes.
  3. On low heat, simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain out the tea leaves or tea bags and spices and discard.
  5. Add the vanilla extract to the chai concentrate.
  6. Let cool and then put the chai concentrate in the refrigerator for about an hour to chill.
  7. To serve, pour chai concentrate over ice and till the glass with Original Almond Breeze almond milk.
