One of our favourite new ways to enjoy almond milk from 2016 was the golden latte – and we’re not alone! According to Google metrics, “golden milk” was one of the most searched food trends of the year. In fact, golden lattes are now on par with matcha in terms of popularity.

 

The hot new café craze is actually an age-old Indian medicinal drink that combines turmeric, cinnamon, ginger root, raw honey, black pepper and almond milk in a delicious, warming concoction.

 

Here are four reasons we’re still drinking loving golden lattes:

Curcumin, the compound found in turmeric, not only turns our lattes golden but it has multiple health benefits thanks to its high concentration of antioxidants and phytonutrients. It can help keep your brain healthy, relieve stomach pain and reduce cholesterol.
